About Debbie

Debbie Long is a lifelong resident of Athens , Alabama . She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business from Samford University in 1992. After working in purchasing and contracts at various corporations in North Alabama, she began her career in the legal field in 1993 as a paralegal at a law firm in Huntsville, Alabama, that served all types of people and various companies with litigation, workers' comp, real estate, domestic, bankruptcy and social security needs.

Debbie entered law school at Birmingham School of Law in January of 2002. She worked full time at the law firm in Huntsville while traveling to Birmingham four nights per week to earn her Juris Doctorate in May of 2005. Debbie became a member of the Alabama Bar on September 30, 2005. Debbie worked for one year at a firm in Athens and opened her sole practice in Madison in June of 2007.

Debbie offers a very hands-on approach to taking care of her client's needs. With her background as a paralegal, she has a genuine understanding of legal procedure and can anticipate not only the theory of law but the practical aspects of the law saving her clients both time and money.

Debbie is active in her community and attends Friendship Church where she works with the children's ministry and is a member of the Athens-Limestone County Chamber of Commerce and Athens Ladies Civitan group.

Debbie is a member of the Limestone and Madison County Bar Association, Alabama State Bar, the Alabama Trial Lawyers, and American Association for Justice.
